Garrett County Commissioners approve GRMC Letter of Intent with WVU Medicine

On Tuesday July, 6th, the Garrett County Commissioners voted unanimously to execute a Letter of intent (LOI) on behalf of Garrett Regional Medical Center (GRMC) that will allow the local, independent hospital to complete a due-diligence process needed to become a full member hospital of the West Virginia University Health System (WVUHS). GRMC will continue to require masks at the hospital and all off-site facilities

In accordance to CDC and OSHA guidelines, GRMC will continue to follow the masking mandate for anyone in a healthcare facility after July 1st, when the State of Emergency in Maryland is lifted. As a healthcare facility, GRMC treats the most vulnerable as well as the most critically ill people in the community. In order to protect both patients and staff, the hospitals administration has decided to follow federal health guidelines by continuing to require masks of everyone entering the hospital and any off-site facilities. Integrative Pain Management Center opens at GRMC

Garrett Regional Medical Center held a ribbon cutting recently in celebration of the opening of an Integrative Pain Management Center at the hospital. The new center will provide a variety of non-opioid treatment options for people suffering from chronic pain. Attended by hospital staff and two of the Garrett County Commissioners, the ribbon cutting marked the opening of a much needed clinical service that will prevent patients from having to travel to see a pain specialist.
