REGISTERED NURSE

Med-Surg

Assumes responsibility and accountability for a group of patients for a designated time frame.  Coordinates and implements patient care specific to the age of the patient population served on the assigned units.  Ensures that quality care is provided in an efficient and safe manner, consistent with the units standard of care.

Graduate from an accredited school of nursing with current registration with the Maryland State Board of Nurse Examiners.  Recent Med-Surg experience preferred.

CCA – CERTIFIED CODER

Health Information Management

The Certified Coder 1 is responsible for coding and abstracting outpatient accounts, corresponding with customers from other departments and provider offices, and assisting with readiness for HSCRC monthly and quarterly transmissions. Coder duties include abstracting and assigning accurate ICD and CPT codes onto patient records according to established guidelines. Codes Outpatient accounts including Clinicals, Diagnostics, POV (mobile labs drawn from other offices and facilities), Recurring, Referred, and/or Emergency Department accounts. Reviews clinical documentation and clinical results to support assignment of ICD-10-CM diagnosis codes and CPT-4 outpatient procedure codes for hospital reimbursement, medical necessity, mortality and morbidity outcomes, governmental compliance, research, statistics, and regulatory compliance. CCA Coder will review accounts, report, transmit, and verify transmissions to Maryland HSCRC. Additional work to include reporting, follow-up for documentation, communication with providers and hospital departments. May perform coding audits for quality checks and reviews for Patient Financial Services. May perform physician education. Perform other duties as assigned.

High School Diploma or equivalent.  Must successfully complete an approved coding program or must be a graduate of a Health Information Management program.  One year coding experience preferred.  Coding Certificate.  Must be certified within 1 year of hire through the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) CCA, CCS-P, CCS, RHIT, or RHIAOR.  Must be certified within 1 year of hire through the American Association of Procedural Coders (AAPC) CPC, CPC-A, CPC-H, CPC-H-A.

PHYSICIAN

Garrett Family Medicine, Specialty Physicians of Garrett County, LLC

The physician will plan, implement and maintain a program of health and wellness for patients and families.  Evaluate, diagnose, and deliver of plan of care and evaluation for patients on an individual basis. Performs a thorough assessment, evaluation and treatment of patients presenting with urgent conditions and stabilize their conditions.  Decisions to transfer patients will be made in consultation with the receiving physician.  Arrange for follow up care for patients and their families presenting to the facility.  Cares for patients of all ages from infancy to elderly.

Candidates must be Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine.  Individual must have active MD licensure, DEA and CDS and will be required to credential with the Medical Staff of Garrett Regional Medical Center for outpatient practice.  Preference would be given to candidates who have at least 2 years’ experience in primary, urgent or emergency care services.

REGISTERED NURSE

Integrative Pain Management

The Integrative Pain Management Nurse is s professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for a group of patients receiving an interventional procedure.  The RN is a clinical practitioner who coordinates and implements patient care specific to the age and physical/emotional condition of the patient population served.  The RN ensures quality care is provided in an efficient and safe manner, consistent with the hospital’s standard of care.  The RN will assist the physician and medial assistant with preparing for the scheduled procedure, monitoring during and after treatment, assessing and preparing for discharge.  Moderate sedation may be used at times.

Graduate from an accredited school of nursing with current registration with the Maryland State Board of Nurse Examiners or WV multi-state license required.  Prior work experience in an acute care setting preferred.  ACLS and CPR certifications required.

  • Per Diem (4 – 8 hours per week), Non-Exempt, Hourly

CERTIFIED NURSING ASSISTANT

Med-Surg

Follows the plan of care as directed by the professional nursing staff and assists in maintaining a positive physical and psychosocial environment for the patients.

High school graduate or equivalent required.  Gradate from an approved nursing assistant program required.  Approximately one year related work experience preferred. Maryland Board of Nursing – Nursing Assistant Certification required.

  • Part-Time, 24 hours per week
  • Shifts as scheduled
  • Rotating weekends, rotating holidays

 

CLINICAL SUPPORT ASSISTANT

Intensive Care Unit

The ICU- Clinical Support Assistant follows the plan of care as directed by the professional nursing staff and assists in maintaining a positive physical and psychosocial environment for the patients.

High school graduate or equivalent required.  Nursing Assistant certification by the Maryland Board of Nursing required.  One year of related work experience preferred.  SafeClinch certification required.  EKG course required.

  • Full-Time, 36 Hours per Week, Non-Exempt
  • 5:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.
  • Rotating weekends, rotating holidays

 

EMERGENCY ROOM TECHNICIAN

Under the supervision of the physicians and/or Registered Nurse, the Emergency Department Technician performs various patient care activities necessary in providing for the personal needs and comfort of patient. They assist licensed personnel as assigned.  The E.D. Technician performs clerical duties including order entry, supply billing, ordering of supplies, and answering phones throughout each shift.

High school or equivalent plus 3-12 month training program required.  Training in phlebotomy.  Emergency Medical Technician and Paramedics,  EMT-B preferred or equivalent in-house training required.

ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES ASSOCIATE

Cleans walls, lights, fixtures, and furniture in all assigned areas of Off-Site Offices and the hospital to maintain as aseptic environment and prevent healthcare-associated infection, using standard cleaning procedures and chemicals. Cleans, waxes, extracts, and maintains floors, carpeting, and stairwells and assists with heavy cleaning throughout the hospital.

High School diploma or GED preferred but not required. Must have reading, writing and math skills adequate to work independently to perform duties in a safe, competent manner.  Previous related experience of at least 3 months preferred.

MT/MLT

Medical Technologist/Medical Lab Technician

Performs standard tests, obtains and prepares specimens for testing, determines and evaluates results,  records and reports test results, performs quality control procedures, performs routine maintenance on equipment according to established policies and procedures.  Functions in all areas of the laboratory.

AA degree in Medical Technology required.  MT/MLT certification or the equivalent required

MATERIALS TECHNICIAN

The Materials Technician is responsible for receipt, storing, stocking and distribution of all materials delivered to the Materials Management Department by various vendors. Serves as customer representative in adjusting stock  levels, adding/deleting products from cart and requisition work sheets.  Must be able to lift up to and over 50 pounds on a routine basis.

High school graduate or equivalent required.  Heavy lifting required.  CPR required.

  • Part-Time, 20 hours per week, Non-Exempt Hourly
  • Various shifts as scheduled up to 10:30 p.m.

 

FACILITIES MAINTENANCE ASSISTANT

Facilities Department

The Facilities Maintenance Assistant will assist the Facilities Department in building maintenance and repairs, snow shoveling, and snow plowing of all hospital and remote sites, as assigned.

High school diploma or equivalent required.  Approximately 3-5 years of related work experience required.  Driver’s license required.  CPR required.  Individual may have the room for internal growth opportunities with the ability to earn the Stationary Engineer Grade 5 license.

SURGICAL TECHNICIAN

Operating Room 

Certified ORT’s eligible for a sign-on bonus of up to $2,500 with a two (2) year signing agreement required.  Half will be paid upon completion of 90-day probationary period and the remaining half at end of the two years commitment.

The Operating Room Technician, under the direction of the Surgeon or RN, performs technical skills and provides assistance to surgeons, anesthesia personnel, registered nurses, and other professionals in the operating room.  Performs similar duties in other areas of the hospital as assigned.

High School Diploma or equivalent required. Medical Terminology and Anatomy coursework required or willing to obtain within one year of employment. Graduate from an accredited school of surgical technology preferred.  Surgical Technician Certification preferred.  Approximately one year of related work experience required.  Individual will be ineligible to transfer from the department for a period of two years.

LPN/RN/GRADUATE NURSE OPPORTUNITIES

  • Med-Surg:  RN, Full-Time, 40 hours per week;  primarily night shift, rotating weekends and rotating holidays
  • Operating Room: RN candidates, Full-Time, 40 hours per week, primarily day shift; Requires On-Call Rotation
  • ICU  RN, Full-Time, 36 hours per week, rotating shifts M-F, which may include any non-rotating holidays, weekends and rotating holidays required only when covering vacations, illnesses and leave of absence.

CRISIS COUNSELOR

Patient Care Management 

Provides assessment and evaluation for mental health patients in order to determine the appropriate plan for services.

Master’s level Social Work or Related Field preferred. Will consider LBSW or BSN with mental health experience.

CERTIFIED REGISTERED NURSE ANESTHETIST

Garrett Anesthesia Services, LLC

Seeking candidate experienced in all types of anesthesia and blocks.  Surgical cases include general, orthopedic, vascular, GYN, ophthalmology, urology, colo-rectal, and obstetrics.

Graduate of a nurse anesthesia educational program accredited by the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs or its predecessor. Holds current active state licensure as a registered nurse in the state of Maryland and complies with any applicable state statutory and regulatory requirements concerning CRNAs. Is currently certified or recertified by the National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists. Insurable by an appropriate medical malpractice insurer for the limits required by this institution or state.
