MATERIALS TECHNICIAN

The Materials Technician is responsible for receipt, storing, stocking and distribution of all materials delivered to the Materials Management Department by various vendors. Serves as customer representative in adjusting stock levels, adding/deleting products from cart and requisition work sheets. Must be able to lift up to and over 50 pounds on a routine basis.

High school graduate or equivalent required. Heavy lifting required.  CPR required.

  • Part-Time, 20 hours per week
  • Various shifts as scheduled up to 10:30 p.m.

 

DIRECTOR OF OUTPATIENT PHYSICIAN PRACTICE MANAGEMENT

Responsible for the oversight of outpatient physician practices. Will have oversight of the financials of the physician practices, perform data analytics for the practice, perform regulatory reporting for the physician practices for CMS and other regulatory bodies, assist with preparation of capital and operating budgets, work with the administrative team on service line development, and assist with recruitment efforts. Along with the Materials Management Department, the Director would work with vendors on equipment, supplies, and negotiating costs. Assist with EMR systems and upgrades along with the Hospital IS department. The Director will be a liaison for the practice with other physicians and community agencies. Assists with audits and regulatory reviews by various agencies.

Bachelor’s degree in healthcare or business related field required and Master’s degree preferred. Prior knowledge or experience with office practice finances and reporting preferred. Experience with management of staff and recruitment preferred. Experience with informatics and data analytics preferred with strong computer skills. Good interpersonal skills and ability to communicate clearly. Strong written and verbal communication skills required. Knowledge of human resource principles for physician recruitment and retention. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong decision making and problem solving skills are a must, as well as being detail and customer service oriented. CPR Certification required. Driver’s license required. Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt required or must be obtained within 1 year of employment.

OPERATING ROOM TECHNICIAN

Certified ORT’s eligible for a sign-on bonus of up to $2500 with a two (2) year signing agreement required.  Half will be paid at time of signing and the remaining half at end of the two year commitment.

The Operating Room Technician, under the direction of the Surgeon or RN, performs technical skills and provides assistance to surgeons, anesthesia personnel, registered nurses, and other professionals in the operating room.  Performs similar duties in other areas of the hospital as assigned.

High School Diploma or equivalent required. Medical Terminology and Anatomy coursework required or willing to obtain within one year of employment. Graduate from an accredited school of surgical technology preferred.  Surgical Technician Certification preferred.  Approximately one year of related work experience required.

Individual understands that they will be ineligible to transfer from the department for a period of two years.

BILLING/CODING/CREDENTIALING SPECIALIST – Grantsville Medical Center

Must have working knowledge of eClinicalWorks; Review provider’s notes for complete documentation and correct selection of ICD10 diagnoses codes and CPT procedure codes, and make sure all appropriate codes are entered in software to be billed. Communicate with providers for completeness and appropriateness;  Stay up-to-date on industry standards and changes for billing purposes and educate providers;  Create claims in practice management software;  Submit paper and electronic claims to insurance companies; Check insurance eligibility as needed;  Post payments in practice management software from all sources (credit cards, paper checks and explanation of benefits and electronic remittance advice);  Follow up on all denied and outstanding claims in a timely manner;  Notify participating insurance companies of overpayments as necessary; Send patient statements and work accounts receivable in a timely manner;  Assist in month-end balancing and lock/hard close; Assist Office Manager with bank deposits and other administrative duties as needed;  Assist in Provider Credentialing; Have a working knowledge of the duties at the front desk including greet and check patients in and out, obtain copy of current insurance cards, collect appropriate copays from patients, enter patient data in software, answer phones, schedule appointments, remind patients of appointments, communicate with insurance companies and physician offices for referrals and authorizations, attend fax machine & distribute appropriately, filing, transfer of patient records, requisition supplies, equipment, and services as directed.

High school graduate or equivalent required. Certification in Coding preferred.   Knowledge of anatomy and physiology, disease process and medical terminology along with strong computer skills.  CPC, CCA or CCS preferred.  Health insurance knowledge preferred.  Previous healthcare billing or collection experience preferred.  Excellent customer service skills, teamwork, professional demeanor, grammar and written skills required.  CPR required.

CERTIFIED NURSING ASSISTANT

Follows the plan of care as directed by the professional nursing staff and assists in maintaining a positive physical and psychosocial environment for the patients.

High school graduate or equivalent required. Gradate from an approved nursing assistant program required. Approximately one year related work experience preferred. Maryland Board of Nursing – Nursing Assistant Certification required.

ANESTHESIOLOGIST

NURSE EXTERN

Garrett Regional Medical Center is now accepting applications for our Nurse Extern Program. This is an 8-week program for nursing students currently enrolled in a program approved by a State Board of Nursing to prepare candidates for their RN licensure.

The program allows nursing students to work in the hospital under the direction of an experienced Registered Nurse mentor during their last year or semester of college. During this experience, students will obtain valuable clinical experience and skills in the following clinical areas:  Medical-Surgical, Obstetrics, Operating Room, Intensive Care Unit, and the Emergency Department.

EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT STAFF NURSE

Assumes responsibility and accountability for a group of patients for a designated time frame. Coordinates and implements patient care specific  to the age of the patient population served on the assigned units. Ensures that quality    care is provided in an efficient and safe manner, consistent with the units standard of  care.

Graduate from an accredited school of nursing with current registration with the Maryland State Board of Nurse Examiners. Must have ACLS and PALS or be willing to obtain within 6 months.

EMERGENCY PHYSICIAN

Professional Emergency Physician Services, LLC (PEPS) has a need for an Emergency Medicine Physician to complement our Emergency Department. PEPS is a wholly owned subsidiary of Garrett Regional Medical Center, a WVU Health System affiliated hospital.

This position is full-time and offers a great opportunity for an ambitious individual to join an established team at a competitive rate of pay.

Preference would be given to candidates who have at least 2 years’ experience in primary, urgent or emergency care services. Candidates would have the professional knowledge and skills to be able to evaluate, diagnose, and deliver a plan of care for patients on an individual basis.

Our Emergency Department receives nearly 19,000 visits annually. Our Operating Room consists of three OR’s and two procedure rooms conducting roughly 3,000 general surgeries and 1,500 endoscopies annually. Our hospital has near 2,400 admissions, and 330 births each year.

GRANTSVILLE MEDICAL CENTER – URGENT CARE NURSE PRACTITIONER

Under the general guidance of the Medical Director of the Urgent Care Center, the Nurse Practitioner will plan, implement and maintain a program of health and wellness for patients and families in the Urgent Care Center. The Nurse Practitioner will evaluate, diagnose, and deliver of plan of care and evaluation for these patients on an individual basis. The Nurse Practitioner will perform a thorough assessment, evaluation and treatment of patients presenting with urgent conditions and stabilize their conditions. Consultation with the Medical Director will be obtained when needed by the Nurse Practitioner. Decisions to transfer patients will be made in consultation with the receiving physician. The Nurse Practitioner will perform minor procedures in the Urgent Care Center as outlined in their delineation agreement. The Nurse Practitioner will arrange for follow up care for patients and their families presenting to the Urgent Care Center. The Nurse Practitioner will care for patients of all ages from infancy to elderly.

Master of Science degree in a Nurse Practitioner Program from a NLN accredited graduate program. Nurse Practitioners license to practice in Maryland. Certification as an Adult or Family Nurse Practitioner. Maintain unrestricted licensure/certification to practice medicine per state guidelines. Maintain Board Certification, DEA Certification, DOT Certification. Demonstrate ability to calculate drug dosages. Demonstrate ability to handle emergency situations calmly and effectively. Demonstrate the ability to maintain good inter-personal relationships with co-workers and health team members. Document continuing education per licensure and certification requirements and clinic protocols. Must demonstrate knowledge of the rationale of appropriate patient care. 3 Years of Nursing Experience, required.

CRNA

A Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) is an advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) who practices both autonomously and in collaboration with a variety of health providers on the inter-professional team to deliver high-quality, holistic, evidence-based anesthesia and pain care services. The CRNA cares for patients at all acuity levels across the lifespan in a variety of settings for procedures including, but not limited to, surgical, obstetrical, diagnostic, therapeutic, and pain management.

Graduate of a nurse anesthesia educational program accredited by the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs or its predecessor. Holds current active state licensure as a registered nurse in the state of Maryland and complies with any applicable state statutory and regulatory requirements concerning CRNAs. Is currently certified or recertified by the National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists. Insurable by an appropriate medical malpractice insurer for the limits required by this institution or state.

  • Emergency Department: Full-Time (36 hours per week) and Part-Time (24 hours per week) working primarily second and third shifts; 12 hour shift rotations; self-scheduling model with rotating weekends and rotating holidays
  • Med-Surg:  Full-Time, 40 hours per week;  primarily nights, rotating weekends and rotating holidays
  • Operating Room: Full-Time, 40 hours per week and Part-Time 20 hours per week working primarily day shift; Requires On-Call Rotation

HOLISTIC PAIN MANAGEMENT CLINIC- MASSAGE THERAPIST 

To offer therapeutic massage therapy to clients and to provide courteous service to promote a positive experience.

Successful completion of a massage therapy course at an approved school or apprenticeship program and ability to perform a variety of massage techniques. High school diploma or a GED certificate or demonstration of equivalent skills. State license as a massage therapist. Ability to keep careful records of services performed. Friendly, courteous manner that makes clients feel welcomed and relaxed. Well groomed, neat, and professional appearance required. Good organizational skills for managing massage services and for performing all duties without immediate and direct supervision. Good mobility and manual dexterity required by nature of services performed.

DIET AIDE/COOK

Performs a variety of tasks in kitchen, tray line, cafeteria, storage, and dishwashing areas. Prepares and cooks food for patients, employees, and visitors according to standards, practices, and procedures. Assists in the overall sanitation of the department and equipment.

Approximately 1 year of on-the-job training in food preparations, cooking, and principles of sanitation and safety preferred.  Good communication and public relations skills required.

FACILITIES ENGINEER

The Facilities Engineer will work under the direction of the AVP of Facilities Management to support the Facilities and Engineering Department in the daily operations. They will assist the AVP in the architectural, engineering and construction of all expansion, renovation and capital projects of the facility. Duties include daily management and technical support to the Plant Operations group, compliance to Joint Commission standards related to the F/E plans, policies, and procedures; support the Plant Operations group of management with IT related systems. The Facilities Engineer will be responsible for assisting with the creation and updating of the reference library and equipment files which will include the CADD update of all drawings on record.   The Facilities Engineer will assist in the activities of the Safety and Security, Emergency Management, Environment of Care and the Emergency Operations procedures of the hospital.

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related fields required.   Prior experience in facilities engineering, facilities maintenance or construction management preferred. Candidate must be proficient in Microsoft Office Applications, AutoCAD, Process Improvement, and Lean Six Sigma. Candidate must be capable of obtaining a Maryland Grade 3 Stationary Engineers license within 3 years of hire date.
