CENTRALIZED SCHEDULER

 Patient Access Department

The Centralized Scheduler accurately and efficiently schedules/reschedules/cancels outpatient procedures for many areas of the hospital. The Centralized Scheduler will obtain inpatient and observation authorizations. The Centralized Scheduler will also obtain additional diagnosis information when an Advanced Beneficiary Notice (ABN) prints at the time of scheduling.

High School Diploma or equivalent. Approximately one year of related work experience is required. CPR certification required but able to obtain on-site.

LICENSED CLINICAL SOCIAL WORKER OR LICENSED COUNSELOR

 Health and Wellness Services, Specialty Physicians of Garrett County, LLC

The Licensed Social Worker or Counselor will be responsible for interviewing clients presenting to the Health and Wellness Center. They will provide counseling services and assist with resources and ancillary services to provide comprehensive care to clients. They will collaborate with the team to develop plans of care to maximize the client’s state of wellness. They will make consults to various community agencies and assist with other social needs as presented. They must have the ability to respond to emergency situations and use de-escalation techniques. They will be responsible for accurate and timely record documentation for client care and billing.

Master’s degree required. Social Worker must hold an active LCSW-C Maryland license. Counselors must hold an active license for LCPC in Maryland. Approximately 1 year of related work experience required. CPR certification required, but can be obtained on-site.

ULTRASOUND TECHNOLOGIST

 Radiology Department

The Ultrasound Technologist operates ultrasound equipment to perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures as directed by physicians according to established standards and practices. Exercises professional judgement/attitude in performance of services and provides appropriate patient care. May serve as a preceptor for ultrasound students from ultrasound programs that use GRMC as a clinical site.

High School Diploma or equivalent plus 13-24 months training program required. One year of related work experience preferred. ARDMS certification or board eligible (passing within six months) required. CPR required and is available on-site.

  • Full-Time, 40 hours per week, Non-Exempt/Hourly

  • Required weekday, weekend, and holiday on-call rotation

SURGICAL SERVICES COORDINATOR

 Surgical Services Department

The Surgical Services Coordinator performs clerical duties for the Operating Room, PACU, Central Services, and Anesthesia. The coordinator is responsible for scheduling of cases to provide a smooth daily workflow. This position is responsible for coordinating services from outside vendors required to complete procedures, as well as maintaining open communication with the surgery office.   The coordinator is responsible for billing and ordering functions for all areas under the Surgical Services umbrella. The Coordinator also processes payroll through Kronos timekeeping system, as required.

High School Diploma or equivalent required. Three months to one year of related work experience required. Knowledge of medical terminology preferred. CPR certification required, but can be obtained on-site.

MARKETING COORINDATOR

Marketing Department

The Marketing Coordinator assists the Director in planning, implementing, and coordinating all aspects of hospital marketing, public relations, events, and social media.

High school diploma or equivalent. Associates Degree in Marketing or Public Relations preferred. 8 years of clerical/administrative experience preferred. Driver’s license required.

CENTRAL SERVICE TECHNICIAN

Surgical Services Department

The Central Service Technician is responsible to clean and process instruments, maintain and provide specialty supplies and portable equipment that is necessary and essential to the care of the patient.

High School Diploma or equivalent required. Approximately one year of related work experience in healthcare preferred. Sterile Processing Certification preferred. CPR certification required, but able to obtain on-site.

  • Part-Time, 20 hours per week
  • Primarily Day Shift
  • On Call Rotation Required

SECURITY GUARD

Plant Operations

The Security Guard at Garrett Regional Medical Center secures premises and personnel by patrolling property; monitoring surveillance equipment; inspecting buildings, equipment, and access points; permitting entry. The Security Guard will maintain high visibility presence and prevent all illegal or inappropriate actions. The security guard will be responsible for snow removal as assigned.

High School diploma or GED equivalent.  Must be at least 18 years of age or older. Security experience preferred. Past or present members of the Armed Services are encouraged to apply. Individual must complete the IAHSS Basic Training and Certification exam within 1 year of hire.

 REGISTERED NURSES

  • Med-Surg: RN or LPN, Full-Time, 40 hours per week; primarily night shift; Rotating Weekends and Holidays
  • ICU: RN, Full-Time, 24 hours per week; multiple shifts available; Rotating Weekends and Holidays
  • Operating Room: RN, Full-Time, 40 hours per week; primarily day shift; Requires On-Call Rotation
  • Family Centered Maternity Suite: RNFull-Time, 36 hours per week, Non-Exempt Hourly, 7:00pm-7:00am, Rotating weekends and holidays, Requires call coverage
  • PACU: RN, Full-Time, 40 hours per week,  Hourly (Non-Exempt), Primarily Day Shift, Requires Call Coverage
  • Cardiac Rehab: RN, Full-Time 40 hours per week, Hourly (Non-Exempt), Primarily Day Shift
  • Integrative Pain Management Center: RN, Per Diem, As needed, Primarily Day Shift, Monday-Friday

Assumes responsibility and accountability for a group of patients for a designated time frame. Coordinates and implements patient care specific to the age of the patient population served on the assigned units. Ensures  quality care is provided in an efficient and safe manner, consistent with the units standard of care.

Applicant must be a graduate from an accredited school of nursing with current license in Maryland or Multi-State licensure. Certifications specific by department are required but can be obtained using our internal education program. Assistance for fees to transfer or apply for licensure is available

CERTIFIED NURSING ASSISTANT

Med-Surg

Follows the plan of care as directed by the professional nursing staff and assists in maintaining a positive physical and psychosocial environment for the patients.

High school graduate or equivalent required. Graduate from an approved nursing assistant program required. Approximately one year related work experience preferred.  Maryland Board of Nursing – Nursing Assistant Certification required.

  • Part-Time, 24 hours per week, Non-Exempt Hourly
  • 7:00am-7:00pm, rotating weekends, rotating holidays

 

EMERGENCY ROOM TECHNICIAN

Emergency Room

Under the supervision of the physicians and/or Registered Nurse, the Emergency Department Technician performs various patient care activities necessary in providing for the personal needs and comfort of patient. They assist licensed personnel as assigned. In addition, the E.D. Technician performs clerical duties including order entry, supply billing, and answering phones throughout each shift.

High school or equivalent plus 3-12 month training program required. Training as CNA, MA, or EMS preferred.

  • Rotating Shifts, Weekends, and Holidays

 

ADMISSIONS REPRESENTATIVE

Patient Care Access 

The Admissions Representative accurately obtains all demographic and payer information needed to produce a patient record. Handles switchboard and paging functions for the hospital. Accepts payments, writes receipts and prepares daily deposit accurately. Performs outpatient pre-authorizations/ insurance verifications as required and informs patients about financial liabilities. Requests appropriate co-pay and deductible amount at time of registration. Responds accurately to Caring Program or payment plan inquiries.

High School Diploma or equivalent with training or experience in general clerical functions. CPR required, but can be obtained within six months in position.

  • Part-Time, 32 hours per week, Hourly (Non-Exempt)

ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES ASSOCIATE

Housekeeping Department

Cleans walls, lights, fixtures, and furniture in all assigned areas of Off-Site Offices and the hospital to maintain as aseptic environment and prevent healthcare-associated infection, using standard cleaning procedures and chemicals. Cleans, waxes, extracts, and maintains floors, carpeting, and stairwells and assists with heavy cleaning throughout the hospital.

High School diploma or equivalent preferred but not required. Must have reading, writing and math skills adequate to work independently to perform duties in a safe, competent manner.  Previous related experience of at least 3 months preferred.

  • Full-Time, 40 hours per week, Non-Exempt Hourly

SURGICAL TECHNICIAN

Surgical Services

The Operating Room Technician, under the direction of the Surgeon or RN, performs technical skills and provides assistance to surgeons, anesthesia personnel, registered nurses, and other professionals in the operating room.  Performs similar duties in other areas of the hospital as assigned.

High School Diploma or equivalent required. Medical Terminology and Anatomy coursework required or willing to obtain within one year of employment. Graduate from an accredited school of surgical technology preferred.  Surgical Technician Certification preferred.  Approximately one year of related work experience required.  Individual will be ineligible to transfer from the department for a period of two years.

  • Full-Time, 40 hours per week
  • Primarily Day Shift – Plus On-Call Rotations As Scheduled
