UNIT SECRETARY

Attends the nursing station and performs clerical and receptionist duties. Requisition supplies, equipment, and services as directed.

High school diploma or equivalent required. Previous work experience or training in clerical duties required.  Knowledge of Medical Terminology preferred.

  • Full-Time, 40 hours per week
  • Primarily Dayshift
  • Rotating Weekends, Rotating Holidays

Accurately obtains all demographic and payer information needed to produce a patient record. Handles switchboard and paging functions for the hospital.  Accepts payments, writes receipts and prepares daily deposit accurately.  Requests appropriate co-pay and deductible amount at time of registration.

High School diploma or equivalent required.  Experience in general clerical functions preferred.      

  • Part-Time, 32 Hours per Week
  • Primarily Second and Third Shifts
  • Rotating Weekends and Holidays

Cleans walls, lights, fixtures, and furniture in all assigned areas of the hospital to maintain as aseptic environment and prevent healthcare-associated infection, using standard cleaning procedures and chemicals. Cleans, waxes, extracts, and maintains floors, carpeting, and stairwells and assists with heavy cleaning throughout the hospital.

High School diploma or GED preferred but not required. Must have reading, writing and math skills adequate to work independently to perform duties in a safe, competent manner.

NURSING OPPORTUNITIES

Self-scheduling staffing models are available in the ED to promote work/life balance! Various shifts available with rotating weekends and holidays. Flexible scheduling opportunities allow for no mandating. Temporary housing available across from the hospital. Re-location expenses up to $3000.

Applicant must be a graduate from an accredited school of nursing with current license in Maryland or Multi-State licensure. Certifications specific by department are required but can be obtained using our internal education program. Assistance for fees to transfer or apply for license is available.

 

CRISIS COUNSELOR

Provides assessment and evaluation of mental health patients in order to determine the appropriate plan for services.

Master’s level Social Work or Related Field preferred.  Will consider LBSW or BSN with mental health experience.

FACILITIES ENGINEER

Under the supervision of the Assistant Vice President of Facilities Management, the Facilities Engineer will work under the direction of the AVP of Facilities Management to support the Facilities and Engineering Department in the daily operations. They will assist the AVP in the architectural, engineering and construction of all expansion, renovation and capital projects of the facility. Duties include daily management and technical support to the Plant Operations group, compliance to Joint Commission standards related to the F/E plans, policies, and procedures; support the Plant Operations group of management with IT related systems. The Facilities Engineer will be responsible for assisting with the creation and updating of the reference library and equipment files which will include the CADD update of all drawings on record.   The Facilities Engineer will assist in the activities of the Safety and Security, Emergency Management, Environment of Care and the Emergency Operations procedures of the hospital.

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related fields required.   Prior experience in facilities engineering, facilities maintenance or construction management preferred. Candidate must be proficient in Microsoft Office Applications, AutoCAD, Process Improvement, and Lean Six Sigma. Candidate must be capable of obtaining a Maryland Grade 3 Stationary Engineers license within 3 years of hire date.

FACILITIES TECHNICIAN

The Maintenance Mechanic/Maintenance Electrician at Garrett Regional Medical Center performs a variety of mechanical and/or electrical maintenance activities/repairs on hospital equipment.   The responsibilities Include diagnostics, troubleshooting and repairs on plant equipment which includes but not limited to boilers, chillers,  generators, pumps,  HVAC equipment,  Kitchen Equipment, piping systems, wiring systems and specialized hospital equipment.   The applicant must be capable of performing general building repairs and snow removal.  A strong preference will be given to candidates which hold a Maryland Master license in plumbing, HVAC, or electrical trades.   Must have the ability to respond and cope with stressful patient related situations when needed to assist with Security concerns.

High School diploma or GED equivalent. Must be at least 18 years of age or older. A minimum of 5 years’ experience in the field of general maintenance repairs and operation of plant equipment is required.  A strong preference will be given to candidates which hold a Maryland Master license in plumbing, HVAC, electrician or Stationary Engineer Grade 5 or higher.
