MATERIALS TECHNICIAN

  • part-time 20 hours per week – various shifts as scheduled up to 10:30 p.m.

Responsible for receipt, storing, stocking and distribution of all materials delivered to the Materials Management Department by various vendors. Serves as customer representative in adjusting stock levels, adding/deleting products from cart and requisition work sheets. Must be able to lift up to and over 50 pounds on a routine basis.

High school graduate or equivalent required. Heavy lifting required.  CPR required.

MAINTENANCE MECHANIC/ELECTRICIAN

third shift, rotating weekends, rotating holidays

The Maintenance Mechanic/Maintenance Electrician at will perform a variety of mechanical and/or electrical maintenance activities/repairs on the hospital equipment. The responsibilities include diagnostics, troubleshooting and repairs on plant equipment which includes but not limited to boilers, chillers, generators, pumps,  HVAC equipment,  Kitchen Equipment, piping systems, wiring systems and specialized hospital equipment.   The applicant must be capable of performing general building repairs and snow removal.  A strong preference will be given to candidates which hold a Maryland Master license in plumbing, HVAC, or electrical trades.   Must have the ability to respond and cope with stressful patient related situations when needed to assist with Security concerns.

High School diploma or GED equivalent. Must be at least 18 years of age or older.   A minimum of 5 years’ experience in the field of general maintenance repairs and operation of plant equipment is required.   A strong preference will be given to candidates which hold a Maryland Master license in plumbing,  HVAC,  electrician or Stationary Engineer Grade 5 or higher.  Other applicants must be capable of obtaining a Maryland Stationary Engineer Grade 5 within 3 months and Grade 3 within 30 months of hire date.

 

ACCOUNTANT

Primary concern is with the accounting functions for the Hospital (Parent) and its subsidiaries. Assists in the gathering, compiling, analyzing and presentation of financial information for budgeting, reporting, regulatory purposes. Assists in the preparation of cost reimbursement reports to governmental and third party agencies. Assists in special cost studies and analysis of specific parts of the hospital’s operations as a basis for managerial decisions.

BA/BS degree with major in Accounting required. Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.  Masters in Business Administration preferred.  CPA license preferred.  Planning, organizational, and strong analytical skills essential.  Must have strong spreadsheet skills (i.e. Excel). Healthcare experience and knowledge of HSCRC preferred.   One to three (1-3) years of general ledger experience in an automated environment preferred.

 

CODING/BILLING SPECIALIST for our Behavioral Health Clinic

Must have working knowledge of eClinicalWorks; Review provider’s notes for complete documentation and correct selection of ICD10 diagnoses codes and CPT procedure codes, and make sure all appropriate codes are entered in software to be billed. Communicate with providers for completeness and appropriateness;  Stay up-to-date on industry standards and changes for billing purposes and educate providers;  Create claims in practice management software;  Submit paper and electronic claims to insurance companies; Check insurance eligibility as needed;  Post payments in practice management software from all sources (credit cards, paper checks and explanation of benefits and electronic remittance advice);  Follow up on all denied and outstanding claims in a timely manner;  Notify participating insurance companies of overpayments as necessary; Send patient statements and work accounts receivable in a timely manner;  Assist in month-end balancing and lock/hard close; Assist with bank deposits and other administrative duties as needed;  Have a working knowledge of the duties at the front desk including greet and check patients in and out, obtain copy of current insurance cards, collect appropriate copays from patients, enter patient data in software, answer phones, schedule appointments, remind patients of appointments, communicate with insurance companies and physician offices for referrals and authorizations, attend fax machine & distribute appropriately, filing, transfer of patient records, requisition supplies, equipment, and services as directed.

High school graduate or equivalent required. Certification in Coding preferred.  Knowledge of anatomy and physiology, disease process and medical terminology along with strong computer   skills.  CPC, CCA or CCS preferred.  Health insurance knowledge preferred.  Previous healthcare billing or collection experience preferred.  Excellent customer service skills, teamwork, professional demeanor, grammar and written skills required.  CPR required.

 

CERTIFIED NURSING ASSISTANT:

Position will work shifts as scheduled, rotating weekends, and rotating holidays.

High school graduate with nursing assistant experience or training preferred.   MUST be certified by the Maryland Board of Nursing.

 

PATIENT CARE ACCESS REPRESENTATIVE

Accurately obtains all demographic and payer information needed to produce a patient record. Handles switchboard and paging functions for the hospital.  Accepts payments, writes receipts and prepares daily deposit accurately.  Requests appropriate co-pay and deductible amount at time of registration.

High school diploma with training in in general clerical functions.

 

HOUSEKEEPER

Cleans walls, lights, fixtures, and furniture in all assigned areas of the hospital to maintain as aseptic environment and prevent healthcare-associated infection, using standard cleaning procedures and chemicals. Cleans, waxes, extracts, and maintains floors, carpeting, and stairwells and assists with heavy cleaning throughout the hospital.

High School diploma or GED preferred but not required. Must have reading, writing and math skills adequate to work independently to perform duties in a safe, competent manner. Previous related experience of at least 3 months preferred.
