Performs standard tests, obtains and prepares specimens for testing, determines and evaluates results, records and reports test results, performs quality control procedures, performs routine maintenance on equipment according to established policies and procedures.  Functions in all areas of the laboratory.

AA degree in Medical Technology required. MT/MLT certification or the equivalent required.

The Courtesy Coach Driver provides transportation via Courtesy Coach for medical and specialty care appointments.

High school graduate or equivalent. Clear MVA record and criminal history report.  Minimum of one year’s operating a vehicle and knowledge of area preferred.  Must be a licensed driver.  Must complete a Driver Safety Course.

The Materials Technician is responsible for receipt, storing,       stocking and distribution of all materials delivered to the Materials Management Department by various vendors. Serves as customer representative in adjusting stock       levels, adding/deleting products from cart and requisition work sheets. Must be able to lift up to and over 50 pounds on a routine basis.

High school graduate or equivalent required. Heavy lifting required.  CPR required.

  • Part-Time, 20 hours per week
  • Various shifts as scheduled up to 10:30 p.m.

Cleans walls, lights, fixtures, and furniture in all assigned areas of the hospital to maintain as aseptic environment and prevent healthcare-associated infection, using standard cleaning procedures and chemicals. Cleans, waxes, extracts, and maintains floors, carpeting, and stairwells and assists with heavy cleaning throughout the hospital.

High School diploma or GED preferred but not required. Must have reading, writing and math skills adequate to work independently to perform duties in a safe, competent manner. Previous related experience of at least 3 months preferred.

Operates ultrasound equipment to perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures as directed by physicians according to established standards and practices. Exercises professional judgement/attitude in performance of services and provides appropriate patient care. May serve as a preceptor for ultrasound students from ultrasound programs that use GRMC as a clinical site.

High School Diploma or equivalent plus 13-24 months training program required. 1 year of related work experience preferred. ARDMS certification required. CPR required.

The Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) provides respiratory therapy and Cardiopulmonary Diagnostic services to patients as ordered by physicians. This includes all relevant documentation according to GCMH established standards and practices. All therapeutic interventions will be guided by AARC Clinical Practice Guidelines and GCMH policy. Age specific competencies regarding C-P procedures for neonatal, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients will be documented annually. Use of all equipment for therapy and diagnostics will be guided by manufacturers recommendations and GCMH policy. RCP’s will be guided by all hospital wide policies on I.C., Confidentiality, Ethnics, etc in all job related activities.

AA Degree from approved Respiratory Therapy Program required. Respiratory Therapists Maryland State Respiratory Care Practitioner Certification required. CPR required.  Must be very organized, self-directed and creative.  Strong communication skills and clinical knowledge necessary.   Excellent patient relations skills essential.  Computer experience helpful.

  • Emergency Department: Full-Time, 12 hour shifts, self-scheduling model
  • Operating Room: Full-Time (Requires Call Rotation)  –  EXPERIENCED Operating Room Nurses are eligible for a $5000 signing bonus with two year commitment.

Self-scheduling staffing models are available in the ED to promote work/life balance! Various shifts available with rotating weekends and holidays. Flexible scheduling opportunities allow for no mandating. Temporary housing available across from the hospital. Re-location expenses up to $3000.

Applicant must be a graduate from an accredited school of nursing with current license in Maryland or Multi-State licensure. Certifications specific by department are required but can be obtained using our internal education program. Assistance for fees to transfer or apply for license is available.



EXPERIENCED Operating Room Technicians are eligible for a $2500 signing bonus with two year commitment.

The Operating Room Technician, under the direction of the Surgeon or RN, performs technical skills and provides assistance to surgeons, anesthesia personnel, registered nurses, and other professionals in the operating room. Performs similar duties in other areas of the hospital as assigned.

High School Diploma or equivalent required. Medical Terminology and Anatomy coursework required or willing to obtain within one year of employment. Graduate from an accredited school of surgical technology preferred.  Surgical Technician Certification preferred.  Approximately one year of related work experience required.  Individual understands they will be ineligible to transfer from the department for a period of two years.

Professional Emergency Physician Services, LLC (PEPS) has a need for an Emergency Medicine Physician to complement our Emergency Department. PEPS is a wholly owned subsidiary of Garrett Regional Medical Center, a WVU Health System affiliated hospital.

This position is full-time and offers a great opportunity for an ambitious individual to join an established team at a competitive rate of pay.

Preference would be given to candidates who have at least 2 years’ experience in primary, urgent or emergency care services. Candidates would have the professional knowledge and skills to be able to evaluate, diagnose, and deliver a plan of care for patients on an individual basis.

Our Emergency Department receives nearly 21,000 visits annually. Our Operating Room consists of three OR’s and two Endoscopy rooms conducting roughly 3,000 general surgeries and 1,500 endoscopies annually. Our hospital has near 2,400 admissions, and 330 births each year.

The IS Help Desk Technician assists with the responsibilities for the continuous functioning of all workstations, printers, etc., and a variety of customer support services. Assists the user community of customers with technical expertise in installing, maintaining, upgrading and repairing Hospital owned computer hardware and software. Is responsible for IS help desk coverage, resolves technical problems and difficulties and acts as a liaison between the user community and the IS Department.

High school graduate or equivalent, plus 3-12 month training program or comparable experience. CompTIA A+ certification required.

The Licensed  Counselor or Social Worker will be responsible for interviewing clients presenting to the Behavioral Health Center. They will provide counseling services and assist with resources and ancillary services to provide comprehensive care to the clients. They will collaborate with the team to develop plans of care for the clients to maximize their state of wellness. They will make consults to various community agencies and assist with other social needs as presented. They must have the ability to respond to emergency situations and be proficient with de-escalation techniques. They will be responsible for accurate and timely record documentation for client care and billing.

Master’s degree required. Social Workers must hold an active license for LMSW, LCSW or LCSW-C. Counselors must hold an active license for LCPC. Approximately 1 year of related work experience required.

Under the supervision of the Assistant Vice President of Facilities Management, the Facilities Engineer will work under the direction of the AVP of Facilities Management to support the Facilities and Engineering Department in the daily operations. They will assist the AVP in the architectural, engineering and construction of all expansion, renovation and capital projects of the facility. Duties include daily management and technical support to the Plant Operations group, compliance to Joint Commission standards related to the F/E plans, policies, and procedures; support the Plant Operations group of management with IT related systems. The Facilities Engineer will be responsible for assisting with the creation and updating of the reference library and equipment files which will include the CADD update of all drawings on record.   The Facilities Engineer will assist in the activities of the Safety and Security, Emergency Management, Environment of Care and the Emergency Operations procedures of the hospital.

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related fields required.   Prior experience in facilities engineering, facilities maintenance or construction management preferred. Candidate must be proficient in Microsoft Office Applications, AutoCAD, Process Improvement, and Lean Six Sigma. Candidate must be capable of obtaining a Maryland Grade 3 Stationary Engineers license within 3 years of hire date.
