Intensive Care Unit

The ICU- Clinical Support Assistant follows the plan of care as directed by the professional nursing staff and assists in maintaining a positive physical and psychosocial environment for the patients.

High School Diploma or equivalent required. Gradate from an approved nursing assistant program required.  SafeClinch certification required. EKG course required. Approximately one year related work experience preferred. Maryland State Board of Nursing- Nursing Assistant Certification preferred, but not required.

  • Full-Time, 36 hours per week
  • Primarily Night Shift


Housekeeping Department

Cleans walls, lights, fixtures, and furniture in all assigned areas of Off-Site Offices and the hospital to maintain as aseptic environment and prevent healthcare-associated infection, using standard cleaning procedures and chemicals. Cleans, waxes, extracts, and maintains floors, carpeting, and stairwells and assists with heavy cleaning throughout the hospital.

High School diploma or GED preferred but not required. Must have reading, writing and math skills adequate to work independently to perform duties in a safe, competent manner.  Previous related experience of at least 3 months preferred.

  • Full-Time, 40 hours per week, Non-Exempt Hourly
  • Shifts as scheduled
  • Rotating weekends, rotating holidays


  • Med-Surg: RN, Full-Time, 40 hours per week; primarily night shift, rotating weekends and holidays
  • Operating Room: RN candidates, Full-Time, 40 hours per week, primarily day shift; Requires On-Call Rotation
  • Emergency Department: RN candidates, Full-Time, 36 hours per week, rotating shifts
  • ICU: RN, Full-Time, 36 hours per week, rotating shifts M-F, which may include any non-rotating holidays, weekends and rotating holidays required only when covering vacations, illnesses and leave of absence
  • PACU: RN, Full-Time, 40 hours per week, primarily day shift; Requires On-Call Rotation
  • Subacute: RN, Full-Time, 40 hours per week, primarily day shift

Assumes responsibility and accountability for a group of patients for a designated time frame. Coordinates and implements patient care specific to the age of the patient population served on the assigned units. Ensures  quality care is provided in an efficient and safe manner, consistent with the units standard of care.

Applicant must be a graduate from an accredited school of nursing with current license in Maryland or Multi-State licensure. Certifications specific by department are required but can be obtained using our internal education program. Assistance for fees to transfer or apply for license is available.


Surgical Services

The Operating Room Technician, under the direction of the Surgeon or RN, performs technical skills and provides assistance to surgeons, anesthesia personnel, registered nurses, and other professionals in the operating room.  Performs similar duties in other areas of the hospital as assigned.

High School Diploma or equivalent required. Medical Terminology and Anatomy coursework required or willing to obtain within one year of employment. Graduate from an accredited school of surgical technology preferred.  Surgical Technician Certification preferred.  Approximately one year of related work experience required.  Individual will be ineligible to transfer from the department for a period of two years.

  • Full-Time, 40 hours per week
  • Primarily Day Shift – Plus On-Call Rotations As Scheduled

Surgical Services

The Central Service Technician is responsible to clean and process instruments, maintain and provide specialty supplies and portable equipment that is necessary and essential to the care of the patient.

High School Diploma or equivalent required. Approximately one year of related work experience in healthcare required. Sterile Processing Certification preferred. CPR required.

  • Per Diem, As Needed with Premium Pay
  • Primarily Day Shift – Plus On-Call Rotations As Scheduled
  • Internal Education Reimbursement to Become Certified is Available


Laboratory Department

Performs standard tests, obtains and prepares specimens for testing, determines and evaluates results, records and reports test results, performs quality control procedures, performs routine maintenance on equipment according to established policies and procedures. Functions in all areas of the laboratory.

AA degree in Medical Technology required. MT or MLT certification or the equivalent required.

  • Full-Time, 40 Hours per Week
  • Primarily Day Shift
  • Rotating Weekends and Holidays


Garrett Anesthesia Services, LLC

Seeking candidate experienced in all types of anesthesia and blocks.  Surgical cases include general, orthopedic, vascular, GYN, ophthalmology, urology, colo-rectal, and obstetrics.

Graduate of a nurse anesthesia educational program accredited by the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs or its predecessor. Holds current active state licensure as a registered nurse in the state of Maryland and complies with any applicable state statutory and regulatory requirements concerning CRNAs. Is currently certified or recertified by the National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists. Insurable by an appropriate medical malpractice insurer for the limits required by this institution or state.

Garrett Family Medicine, Specialty Physicians of Garrett County, LLC

The physician will plan, implement and maintain a program of health and wellness for patients and families.  Evaluate, diagnose, and deliver of plan of care and evaluation for patients on an individual basis. Performs a thorough assessment, evaluation and treatment of patients presenting with urgent conditions and stabilize their conditions.  Decisions to transfer patients will be made in consultation with the receiving physician.  Arrange for follow up care for patients and their families presenting to the facility.  Cares for patients of all ages from infancy to elderly.

Candidates must be Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine.  Individual must have active MD licensure, DEA and CDS and will be required to credential with the Medical Staff of Garrett Regional Medical Center for outpatient practice.  Preference would be given to candidates who have at least 2 years’ experience in primary, urgent or emergency care services.

  • Full-Time, 40 Hours per Week, Hourly
  • Primarily Day Shift, Monday – Friday


Facilities Department

The Facilities Maintenance Assistant will assist the Facilities Department in building maintenance and repairs, snow shoveling, and snow plowing of all hospital and remote sites, as assigned.

High school diploma or equivalent required.  Approximately 3-5 years of related work experience required.  Driver’s license required.  CPR required.  Individual may have the room for internal growth opportunities with the ability to earn the Stationary Engineer Grade 5 license.

  • Full-Time, 40 hours per week, Non-Exempt Hourly
  • primarily second shift 3:00 – 11:30 p.m.
  • rotating weekends, rotating holidays


Patient Care Management 

Provides assessment and evaluation for mental health patients in order to determine the appropriate plan for services.

Master’s level Social Work or Related Field preferred. Will consider LBSW or BSN with mental health experience.
