CERTIFIED MEDICAL ASSISTANT

Cancer Care Institute/Infusion Center   

Assists the physician and patients by providing clinical and administrative support in the offices and clinics of the Cancer Care Institute. This support will also include assistance in minor procedures performed in the clinical setting.  Obtains vitals and prepare the patient for examination by the medical provider.  Accurately obtains all demographic and payer information needed to produce a patient record.  The Medical Assistant will register and schedule patients as needed.  Performs outpatient pre-authorization/ insurance verifications as required and informs patients about financial liabilities, requests appropriate copay and deductible amount at time of services.

High school diploma or equivalent.  Must have medical assisting training and be familiar with medical terminology.  Medical Assistants National Medical Assistant Certification required or able to obtain within 6 months of employment in position.

ULTRASOUND TECHNOLOGIST

Operates ultrasound equipment to perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures as directed by physicians according to established standards and practices. Exercises professional judgement/attitude in performance of services and provides appropriate patient care.  May serve as a preceptor for ultrasound students from ultrasound programs that use GRMC as a clinical site.

High School Diploma or equivalent plus 13-24 months training program required.  1 year of related work experience preferred.  ARRT & Maryland State Radiographer license required.   ARDMS certification required.  CPR required.

COMMUNITY HEALTH WORKER/PEER NAVIGATOR

Patient Care Management       

The Community Health Worker (CHW)/ Peer Navigator will be working within the hospital and out in the community with specific target populations. The CHW will work closely with medical providers, primary care teams, and the Patient Care Management Department.  Assists clients in accessing health related services including but not limited to obtaining a medical home, providing instruction on appropriate use of the medical home, overcoming barriers to obtaining needed medical care and social services.  Coaches patients in effective management of their chronic health conditions and self-care.  Conducts follow-up with health management care plans with both patients and providers

High School diploma or equivalent required.  Agreeable to complete the Community Health Workers training and certification.  Driver’s license required. CPR certification required or must obtain within 6 months of hire.  High level of interpersonal skills, problem solving, and strong analytic abilities preferred.

  • Part-Time, 24 Hour per Week, Non-Exempt, Hourly
  • Primarily Day Shift
  • Monday – Friday

 

FACILITIES MAINTENANCE ASSISTANT

The Facilities Maintenance Assistant will assist the Facilities Department in building maintenance and repairs, snow shoveling, and snow plowing of all hospital and remote sites, as assigned.

High school diploma or equivalent required.  Approximately 3-5 years of related work experience required.  Driver’s license required.  CPR required.  Individual may have the room for internal growth opportunities with the ability to earn the Stationary Engineer Grade 5 license.

CLINICAL SUPPORT ASSISTANT

Intensive Care Unit

The ICU- Clinical Support Assistant follows the plan of care as directed by the professional nursing staff and assists in maintaining a positive physical and psychosocial environment for the patients.

High school graduate or equivalent required.  Nursing Assistant certification by the Maryland Board of Nursing required.  One year of related work experience preferred.  SafeClinch certification required.  EKG course required.

  • Full-Time, 36 Hours per Week, Non-Exempt
  • 5:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.
  • Rotating weekends, rotating holidays

 

CERTIFIED GERIATRIC NURSING ASSISTANT

Sub-Acute

The Geriatric Nursing Assistant follows the plan of care as directed by the professional nursing staff and assists in maintaining a positive physical and psychosocial environment for the patient.

High School Diploma or equivalent required.  Approximately one year related work experience preferred.  Nursing Assistants Maryland State GCNA Certification required.

  • Part-Time, 32 Hours per Week, Non-Exempt

CERTIFIED NURSING ASSISTANT

Family Centered Maternity Suite

Follows the plan of care as directed by the professional nursing staff and assists in maintaining a positive physical and psychosocial environment for the patients.

High school graduate or equivalent required.  Gradate from an approved nursing assistant program required.  Approximately one year related work experience preferred.  Maryland Board of Nursing – Nursing Assistant Certification required.  CPR required.

  • Part-Time, 24 hours per week, Non-Exempt Hourly
  • Primarily night shift
  • Rotating weekends, rotating holidays
  • Requires Call Coverage

 

RESPIRATORY CARE PRACTITIONER

The Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) provides respiratory therapy and Cardiopulmonary Diagnostic services to patients as ordered by physicians.  This includes all relevant documentation according to GRMC established standards and practices. All therapeutic interventions will be guided by AARC Clinical Practice Guidelines and GRMC policy.  Age specific competencies regarding C-P procedures for neonatal, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients will be documented annually. Use of all equipment for therapy and diagnostics will be guided by manufacturers  recommendations and GRMC policy. RCP’s will be guided by all hospital wide policies on I.C., Confidentiality, Ethnics, etc in all job related activities.

Must be very organized, self-directed and creative.  Strong communication skills and clinical knowledge necessary.   Excellent patient relations skills essential.  Computer experience helpful.  AA Degree from approved Respiratory Therapy Program required.   Respiratory Therapists Maryland State Respiratory Care Practitioner Certification required.  CPR and ACLS Certification required.

SURGICAL TECHNICIAN

Operating Room 

Certified ORT’s eligible for a sign-on bonus of up to $2,500 with a two (2) year signing agreement required.  Half will be paid at time of signing and the remaining half at end of the two years commitment.

The Operating Room Technician, under the direction of the Surgeon or RN, performs technical skills and provides assistance to surgeons, anesthesia personnel, registered nurses, and other professionals in the operating room.  Performs similar duties in other areas of the hospital as assigned.

High School Diploma or equivalent required. Medical Terminology and Anatomy coursework required or willing to obtain within one year of employment. Graduate from an accredited school of surgical technology preferred.  Surgical Technician Certification preferred.  Approximately one year of related work experience required.  Individual understands that they will be ineligible to transfer from the department for a period of two years.

  • Full-Time, 40 hours per week
  • Primarily Day Shift – Plus On-Call Rotations As Scheduled

 

LPN/RN OPPORTUNITIES

Experienced Nurses will receive a sign-on bonus of $10,000 with a two (2) year signing agreement required.  Half will be paid at time of signing and the remaining half at end of the two year commitment.

Temporary housing available across from the hospital or options for re-location with expenses up to $3000 eligible for reimbursement.

Assumes responsibility and accountability for a group of patients for a designated time frame. Coordinates and implements patient care specific to the age of the patient population served on the assigned units. Ensures  quality care is provided in an efficient and safe manner, consistent with the units standard of care.

Applicant must be a graduate from an accredited school of nursing with current license in Maryland or Multi-State licensure. Certifications specific by department are required but can be obtained using our internal education program. Assistance for fees to transfer or apply for license is available.

 

CRISIS COUNSELOR

Patient Care Management 

Provides assessment and evaluation for mental health patients in order to determine the appropriate plan for services.

Master’s level Social Work or Related Field preferred. Will consider LBSW or BSN with mental health experience.

  • Per Diem, as needed

ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES ASSOCIATE

Environmental Services Department 

Cleans walls, lights, fixtures, and furniture in all assigned areas of the hospital to maintain as aseptic environment and prevent healthcare-associated infection, using standard cleaning procedures and chemicals. Cleans, waxes, extracts, and maintains floors, carpeting, and stairwells and assists with heavy cleaning throughout the hospital.

High School diploma or GED preferred but not required. Must have reading, writing and math skills adequate to work independently to perform duties in a safe, competent manner.  Previous related experience of at least 3 months preferred.

CERTIFIED REGISTERED NURSE PRACTITIONER – PRIMARY CARE/HOSPITALIST

Specialty Physicians of Garrett County, LLC 

The Nurse Practitioner will plan, implement and maintain a program of health and wellness for patients and families.  The Nurse Practitioner will evaluate, diagnose, and deliver of plan of care and evaluation for these patients on an individual basis. The Nurse Practitioner will perform a thorough assessment, evaluation and treatment of patients presenting with urgent conditions and stabilize their conditions.  Consultation will be obtained when needed by the Nurse Practitioner.  The Nurse Practitioner will arrange for follow up care for patients and their families.  The Nurse Practitioner will care for patients of all ages from infancy to elderly. The Nurse Practitioner will provide inpatient care and collaboration with attending physician.

Master of Science degree in a Nurse Practitioner Program from a NLN accredited graduate program.  Nurse Practitioners license to practice in Maryland.  Certification as an Adult or Family Nurse Practitioner.  Maintain unrestricted licensure/certification to practice medicine per state guidelines.  Maintain Board Certification, DEA Certification, DOT Certification.  Demonstrate ability to calculate drug dosages.  Demonstrate ability to handle emergency situations calmly and effectively.  Demonstrate the ability to maintain good inter-personal relationships with co-workers and health team members.  Document continuing education per licensure and certification requirements and clinic protocols.  Must demonstrate knowledge of the rationale of appropriate patient care.  3 Years of Nursing Experience, required

Professional Emergency Physician Services, LLC 

This position is full-time and offers a great opportunity for an ambitious individual to join an established team at a competitive rate of pay.

Preference would be given to candidates who have at least 2 years’ experience in primary, urgent or emergency care services.
