SOCIAL WORKER OR COUNSELOR 

Specialty Physicians of Garrett County, LLC- Health and Wellness Center  

The Licensed Social Worker or Counselor will be responsible for interviewing clients presenting to the Health and Wellness Center. They will provide counseling services and assist with resources and ancillary services to provide comprehensive care to clients. They will collaborate with the team to develop plans of care to maximize the client’s state of wellness. They will make consults to various community agencies and assist with other social needs as presented. They must have the ability to respond to emergency situations and use de-escalation techniques. They will be responsible for accurate and timely record documentation for client care and billing.

Master’s degree required. Social Worker must hold an active LCSW-C Maryland license. Counselors must hold an active license for LCPC in Maryland. Approximately one year of related work experience required. CPR certification required, but can be obtained on-site after employment.

COMMUNITY HEALTH CARE WORKER/PEER NAVIGATOR

Patient Care Management 

The Community Health Worker (CHW)/Peer Navigator will be working within the hospital and out in the community with specific target populations. The CHW will work closely with medical providers, primary care teams, and the Patient Care Management Department.

High School diploma or equivalent required. Completion of the Community Health Workers curriculum with certification required. Valid driver’s license required. High level of interpersonal skills, problem solving, and strong analytic abilities preferred.  CPR required but can be obtained on-site.

MEDICAL ASSISTANT

Grantsville Medical Center-Specialty Physicians of Garrett County, LLC

The Medical Assistant will assist the physician and patients by providing clinical and administrative support in the office and clinics of Specialty Physicians of Garrett County, LLC. The medical assistant will accurately obtain all demographic and payer information needed to produce a patient record. Accepts payment, print receipts and prepares daily deposits accurately. Performs outpatient pre- authorization/insurance verifications as required and informs patients about financial liabilities, requests appropriate copay and deductible amount at time of services. The Medical Assistant will also obtain vitals and prepare the patient for examination by the medical provider. The Medical Assistant will assist the provider as required.

High school diploma or equivalent required. Training or experience in Medical Assisting required. National Medical Assistant Certification or ability to obtain within 18 months of employment preferred. CPR required, but can be obtained on-site.

RECEPTIONIST 

Grantsville Medical Center-Specialty Physicians of Garrett County, LLC

The Receptionist attends the front desk, greets and checks patients in and out, obtains a copy of current insurance cards, collects appropriate copays from patients, enters patient data in eClinical Works, answers phones, schedules appointments, reminds patients of appointments, communicates with insurance companies and physician offices for referrals and authorizations, attends the fax machine & distributes appropriately, files, transfers patient records, completes requisition of supplies, equipment, and services as directed.

High School Diploma or equivalent required. Knowledge of Medical Terminology and previous medical office experience desirable. Must be very organized and have strong customer service & communication skills. CPR required, but can be obtained on-site.

ACCOUNTANT

Accounting Department

The Accountant’s primary responsibility is with the accounting functions for the Hospital (Parent) and its subsidiaries. The Accountant will assist in the gathering, compiling, analyzing and presentation of financial information for budgeting, reporting, regulatory purposes.  The Accountant will assist in the preparation of cost reimbursement reports to governmental and third party agencies. The Accountant will assist in special cost studies and analysis of specific parts of the hospital’s operations as a basis for managerial decisions.

BA/BS degree with major in Accounting required. Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.  Masters in Business Administration preferred.  CPA license preferred.  Planning, organizational, and strong analytical skills essential.  Must have strong spreadsheet skills (i.e. Excel).  Healthcare experience and knowledge of HSCRC preferred.  One to three (1-3) years of general ledger experience in an automated environment preferred, CPR certification required, but may obtain on-site.

DIET AIDE/COOK 

Dietary Department

The Diet Aide/Cook performs a variety of tasks in the kitchen, tray line, cafeteria, storage, and dishwashing areas. The Diet Aide/Cook prepares and cooks food for patients, employees, and visitors according to standards, practices, and procedures. The Diet Aide/Cook assists in the overall sanitation of the department and equipment.

Approximately 1 year of on-the-job training in food preparations, cooking, and principles of sanitation and safety preferred. Good communication and public relations skills  required. High School diploma or equivalent required. Food Handler’s certification preferred. CPR certification required, but can be obtained on-site.

MAINTENANCE MECHANIC

Facilities Department

The Maintenance Mechanic/Maintenance Electrician at Garrett Regional Medical Center performs a variety of mechanical and/or electrical maintenance activities/repairs on the hospital equipment. The responsibilities Include diagnostics, troubleshooting and repairs on plant equipment which includes but not limited to boilers, chillers, generators, pumps, HVAC equipment, Kitchen Equipment, piping systems, wiring systems and specialized hospital equipment.  The applicant must be capable of performing general building repairs and snow removal.  Candidates must hold a Maryland Master or Journeyman license in plumbing, HVAC, or electrical trades.  Must have the ability to respond and cope with stressful patient related situations when needed to assist with Security concerns.

High School diploma or GED equivalent.  Must be at least 18 years of age or older. A minimum of 5 years’ experience in the field of general maintenance repairs and    operation of plant equipment is required.  Preference will be given to candidates holding a Maryland Master or Journeyman license in plumbing, HVAC, or electrical trades. Other applicants must be capable of obtaining a Maryland Stationary Engineer Grade 5 within 3 months and Grade 3 within 30 months of hire date.

MLT, MT, OR PHLEBOTOMIST

Laboratory Department

$5,000 Signing Bonus with Two Year Commitment

The Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) performs standard tests, obtains and prepares specimens for testing, determines and evaluates results, records and reports tests results, performs quality control procedures, performs routine maintenance on equipment according to established policies and procedures. Functions in all areas of the laboratory.

The Medical Technologist (MT) performs standard tests, obtains and prepares specimens for testing, determines and evaluates results, records and reports test results, performs quality control procedures, performs routine maintenance on equipment according to established policies and procedures. Functions in all areas of the laboratory.

Job Qualifications: 

Phlebotomist- high school diploma or equivalent with completion of phlebotomy program. National accreditation required or must be able to obtain within three months in position. CPR certified required, but can be obtained on-site. One year of related work experience preferred.

MLT- associate’s degree in Medical Technology required. CPR certification required, but can be obtained on site.

MT- AA degree in Medical Technology required. BA/BS degree in Medical Technology preferred. MT (ASCP or equivalent) required. CPR certification required, but can be obtained on site.

RADIOLOGY TECHNOLOGIST

The Ultrasound Technologist operates ultrasound equipment to perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures as directed by physicians according to established standards and practices. May serve as a preceptor for ultrasound students from ultrasound programs that use GRMC as a clinical site.

High School Diploma or equivalent plus 13-24 months training program required. One year of related work experience preferred. ARDMS certification or board eligible (passing within six months) required. CPR required and is available on-site.

CENTRAL SERVICE TECHNICIAN

Surgical Services Department

The Central Service Technician is responsible to clean and process instruments, maintain and provide specialty supplies and portable equipment that is necessary and essential to the care of the patient.

High School Diploma or equivalent required. Approximately one year of related work experience in healthcare preferred. Sterile Processing Certification preferred. CPR certification required, but able to obtain on-site.

REGISTERED NURSE, LPN, GRADUATE NURSE

Applicant must be a graduate from an accredited school of nursing with current license in Maryland or Multi-State licensure. Certifications specific by department are required but can be obtained using our internal education program. Assistance for fees to transfer or apply for licensure is available

CERTIFIED NURSING ASSISTANT

Family Centered Maternity Suites (FCMS) or MedSurg 

WV or PA C.N.A. applicants can work as a Clinical Assistant while transferring their license. GRMC will pay for cost of transfer! 

Follows the plan of care as directed by the professional nursing staff and assists in maintaining a positive physical and psychosocial environment for the patients.

High school graduate or equivalent required. Graduate from an approved nursing assistant program required. Approximately one year related work experience preferred.  Maryland Board of Nursing – Nursing Assistant Certification required.

  • FCMS- Part-Time, 24 hours per week; Non-Exempt/Hourly; rotating weekends and holidays;  on-call rotation required
  • MedSurg- Full-Time, 40 hours per week; Non-Exempt/Hourly; rotating weekends and holidays; primarily night shift with premium pay

ANESTHESIOLOGIST 

Garrett Anesthesia Services, LLC

The Anesthesiologist cares for patients at all acuity levels across the lifespan in a variety of settings for procedures including, but not limited to, surgical, obstetrical, diagnostic, therapeutic, and pain management. High degree of autonomy.  Must be proficient in regional and blocks.  Supervision of CRNA’s and assistance with regulatory standards required.

Successful completion of an Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) or American Osteopathic Association (AOA)-accredited residency in Anesthesiology. Current certification or active participation in the examination process (with achievement of certification within four (4) years leading to certification anesthesiology by the American Board of Anesthesiology or the American Osteopathic Board of Anesthesiology. BLS, ACLS, and PALS required. Must have license to practice in the state of Maryland and be a member in good standing with the Medical Staff credentialing process.

PHYSICIAN OR CRNP

Specialty Physicians of Garrett County, LLC- Grantsville Medical Center

The Grantsville Medical Center CRNP or Physician will plan, implement and maintain a program of health and wellness for patients and families. The CRNP or Physician will evaluate, diagnose, and deliver of plan of care and evaluation for these patients on an individual basis. The CRNP or Physician will perform a thorough assessment, evaluation and treatment of patients presenting with medical conditions and stabilize their conditions. The CRNP or the Physician will make the determination regarding when transfer of patients is necessary. The Physician will perform minor procedures in the as outlined in their credentialing. The Physician will arrange for follow up care for patients and their families. The CRNP or Physician will care for patients of all ages from infancy to elderly. The Physician will participate in Quality Assurance/Performance Improvement activities as well as Maryland payment model initiatives. The CRNP or Physician will attend hospital committee meetings, as appropriate.

Physician candidates must be Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine. Individual must have active MD licensure, DEA and CDS and will be required to credential with the Medical Staff of Garrett Regional Medical Center for outpatient practice. Preference would be given to candidates who have at least two (2) years’ experience in primary, urgent or emergency care services. CPR certification required, ACLS preferred.

The CRNP candidate will have a Master of Science degree in a Nurse Practitioner Program from an accredited graduate program. Must be licensed to practice in Maryland and able to maintain unrestricted licensure/certification to practice medicine per state guidelines. Maintain Board Certification, DEA Certification,  and DOT Certification (must obtain within six months of employment). Demonstrate ability to calculate drug dosages. Demonstrate ability to handle emergency situations calmly and effectively. Demonstrate the ability to maintain good inter-personal relationships with co-workers and health team members. Must demonstrate knowledge of the rationale of appropriate patient care.  Preference would be given to candidates who have at least two (2) years’ experience in primary, urgent or emergency care services. CPR certification required, ACLS preferred.

CRNP OR PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT

Specialty Physicians of Garrett County, LLC- Hospitalist

The Hospitalist Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant provides direct medical care to patients requiring hospitalization. They chart medical history, assess health status, diagnose any potential issues, and work with physicians and other health professionals to provide high-quality care.

Master of Science degree in a Nurse Practitioner Program or Physician Assistant Program from an accredited graduate program. Must be licensed to practice in Maryland and able to maintain unrestricted licensure/certification to practice medicine per state guidelines. Maintain Board Certification, DEA Certification, DOT Certification. Demonstrate ability to calculate drug dosages. Demonstrate ability to handle emergency situations calmly and effectively. Demonstrate the ability to maintain good inter-personal relationships with co-workers and health team members. Document continuing education per licensure and certification requirements and clinic protocols.  Must demonstrate knowledge of the rationale of appropriate patient care. Approximately 3-5 years of related work experience required.

PHYSICAL THERAPIST

The Physical Therapist will carry out an individualized program of physical therapy including assessment, treatment, planning, implementation, education, and communication to maximize the patient’s progress toward achieving functional goals.

Bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program by the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education required. Current Physical Therapist license to practice in Maryland or approved compact licensure required. Minimum of one year of experience as a physical therapist in a supervised setting within the last three years preferred.
