ACCOUNTANT

Accounting Department

The Accountant’s primary responsibility is with the accounting functions for the Hospital (Parent) and its subsidiaries. The Accountant will assist in the gathering, compiling, analyzing and presentation of financial information for budgeting, reporting, regulatory purposes.  The Accountant will assist in the preparation of cost reimbursement reports to governmental and third party agencies. The Accountant will assist in special cost studies and analysis of specific parts of the hospital’s operations as a basis for managerial decisions.

BA/BS degree with major in Accounting required. Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.  Masters in Business Administration preferred.  CPA license preferred.  Planning, organizational, and strong analytical skills essential.  Must have strong spreadsheet skills (i.e. Excel).  Healthcare experience and knowledge of HSCRC preferred.  One to three (1-3) years of general ledger experience in an automated environment preferred, CPR certification required, but may obtain on-site.

ADMISSIONS REPRESENTATIVE

Patient Care Access Department

The Admissions Representative accurately obtains all demographic and payer information needed to produce a patient record. Handles switchboard and paging functions for the hospital. Accepts payments, writes receipts and prepares daily deposit accurately. Performs outpatient pre-authorizations/ insurance verifications as required and informs patients about financial liabilities. Requests appropriate co-pay and deductible amount at time of registration. Responds accurately to Caring Program or payment plan inquiries.

High School Diploma or equivalent with training or experience in general clerical functions.  CPR required but can be obtained on-site.

DIET AIDE/COOK 

Dietary Department

The Diet Aide/Cook performs a variety of tasks in the kitchen, tray line, cafeteria, storage, and dishwashing areas. The Diet Aide/Cook prepares and cooks food for patients, employees, and visitors according to standards, practices, and procedures. The Diet Aide/Cook assists in the overall sanitation of the department and equipment.

Approximately 1 year of on-the-job training in food preparations, cooking, and principles of sanitation and safety preferred. Good communication and public relations skills  required. High School diploma or equivalent required. Food Handler’s certification preferred. CPR certification required, but can be obtained on-site.

HUMAN RESOURCES COORDINATOR

Human Resources Department

The Human Resource Coordinator will assist with recording-keeping, file maintenance, and HRIS entry. The Human Resources Coordinator provides administrative support to the Human Resources, Education, Employee Health and Benefits Departments, and executive leadership teams, as needed.

The Human Resources Coordinator will:

  • Answer the telephone and triage questions to the appropriate point of contact.
  • Perform customer service functions by answering employee requests and questions.
  • Complete Forms I-9, verify I-9 documentation and maintains I-9 files.
  • Schedule and organize meetings as instructed.
  • Make photocopies; mail, scan and email documents; and perform other clerical functions.
  • Scan and file documents into appropriate employee files.
  • Assist or prepare correspondence as requested.
  • Process mail.
  • Help with the new-hire procedures including organizing employee orientation and creating orientation binders
  • Maintain the name badge system including printing badges as necessary for new employees, transfers, change in credentials, lost badges, etc.
  • Prepare materials and help organize employee performance reviews in the electronic performance management system including 90 Day and Annual Evaluations.
  • Maintain all internal employee communications in conjunction with internal Public Relations on events such as employee birthdays, anniversaries, internal recognition programs, etc.
  • Maintain employee certifications and licensures including notifying the employee and their leader of upcoming expiration dates, collecting renewed documents, and verifying with primary source verification, when necessary.
  • Foster positive employee relations and work to solve any employee issues that may surface.
  • Abide by Human Resource processes and current employment laws and regulations.
  • Order office supplies and maintain office stock levels.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

High Diploma or equivalent required, associate’s degree in human resources or related field and/or equivalent experience preferred. SHRM certification preferred. CPR certification required. Two years of clerical experience required. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.  Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines. Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

UNIT SECRETARY

MedSurg Department

The Unit Secretary attends the nursing station and performs clerical and receptionist duties. The Unit Secretary completes requisition of supplies, equipment, and services as directed.

High School Diploma or equivalent required. Previous work experience or training in clerical duties required. Knowledge of Medical Terminology preferred. CPR certification required but able to obtain on-site.

MAINTENANCE MECHANIC

Facilities Department

The Maintenance Mechanic/Maintenance Electrician at Garrett Regional Medical Center performs a variety of mechanical and/or electrical maintenance activities/repairs on the hospital equipment. The responsibilities Include diagnostics, troubleshooting and repairs on plant equipment which includes but not limited to boilers, chillers, generators, pumps, HVAC equipment, Kitchen Equipment, piping systems, wiring systems and specialized hospital equipment.  The applicant must be capable of performing general building repairs and snow removal.  Candidates must hold a Maryland Master or Journeyman license in plumbing, HVAC, or electrical trades.  Must have the ability to respond and cope with stressful patient related situations when needed to assist with Security concerns.

High School diploma or GED equivalent.  Must be at least 18 years of age or older. A minimum of 5 years’ experience in the field of general maintenance repairs and    operation of plant equipment is required.  Preference will be given to candidates holding a Maryland Master or Journeyman license in plumbing, HVAC, or electrical trades. Other applicants must be capable of obtaining a Maryland Stationary Engineer Grade 5 within 3 months and Grade 3 within 30 months of hire date.

MLT, MT, OR PHLEBOTOMIST

Laboratory Department

$3,000 Re-Location Assistance 

The Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) performs standard tests, obtains and prepares specimens for testing, determines and evaluates results, records and reports tests results, performs quality control procedures, performs routine maintenance on equipment according to established policies and procedures. Functions in all areas of the laboratory.

The Medical Technologist (MT) performs standard tests, obtains and prepares specimens for testing, determines and evaluates results, records and reports test results, performs quality control procedures, performs routine maintenance on equipment according to established policies and procedures. Functions in all areas of the laboratory.

The Phlebotomist collects blood and other specimens, ensures suitability and integrity of specimens collected, performs duties in areas including inpatient, outpatient, and off-site services and assumes responsibility for the safety and comfort of patients following established standards, policies, and procedures. Also responsible for preparing specimens for testing, recording, and reporting of waived test results.

Job Qualifications: 

MLT- associate’s degree in Medical Technology required. CPR certification required, but can be obtained on site.

MT- AA degree in Medical Technology required. BA/BS degree in Medical Technology preferred. MT (ASCP or equivalent) required. CPR certification required, but can be obtained on site.

Phlebotomist-  High School or equivalent plus 3-12 month training program required. Completion of a nationally accredited phlebotomy program with ability to obtain certification required. Three months to one year of work experience preferred.

RESPIRATORY CARE PRACTITIONER

Cardiopulmonary Department

The Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) provides respiratory therapy and Cardiopulmonary Diagnostic services to patients as ordered by physicians. This includes all relevant documentation according to GRMC established standards and practices.  All therapeutic interventions will be guided by AARC Clinical Practice Guidelines and GRMC policy.  Age specific competencies regarding C-P procedures for neonatal, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients will be documented annually.  Use of all equipment for therapy and diagnostics will be guided by manufacturer’s recommendations and GRMC policy.  RCP’s will be guided by all hospital wide policies on I.C., Confidentiality, Ethnics, etc. in all job related activities.

AA Degree from approved Respiratory Therapy Program required.  Respiratory Therapists Maryland State Respiratory Care Practitioner Certification required.  CPR required.  Must be very organized and self-directed. Strong communication skills and clinical knowledge necessary.  Excellent patient relations skills essential.  Computer experience helpful.

RADIOLOGY TECHNOLOGIST

Radiology Department

The Ultrasound Technologist operates ultrasound equipment to perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures as directed by physicians according to established standards and practices. May serve as a preceptor for ultrasound students from ultrasound programs that use GRMC as a clinical site.

High School Diploma or equivalent plus 13-24 months training program required. One year of related work experience preferred. ARDMS certification or board eligible (passing within six months) required. CPR required and is available on-site.

CENTRAL SERVICE TECHNICIAN

Surgical Services Department

The Central Service Technician is responsible to clean and process instruments, maintain and provide specialty supplies and portable equipment that is necessary and essential to the care of the patient.

High School Diploma or equivalent required. Approximately one year of related work experience in healthcare preferred. Sterile Processing Certification preferred. CPR certification required, but able to obtain on-site.

SECURITY GUARD

Plant Operations

The Security Guard at Garrett Regional Medical Center secures premises and personnel by patrolling property; monitoring surveillance equipment; inspecting buildings, equipment, and access points; permitting entry. The Security Guard will maintain high visibility presence and prevent all illegal or inappropriate actions. The security guard will be responsible for snow removal as assigned.

High School diploma or GED equivalent.  Must be at least 18 years of age or older. Security experience preferred. Past or present members of the Armed Services are encouraged to apply. Individual must complete the IAHSS Basic Training and Certification exam within 1 year of hire.

CERTIFIED NURSING ASSISTANT

Med-Surg or Family Centered Maternity Suites (FCMS)

WV or PA C.N.A. applicants can work as a Clinical Assistant while transferring their license. GRMC will pay for cost of transfer! 

Follows the plan of care as directed by the professional nursing staff and assists in maintaining a positive physical and psychosocial environment for the patients.

High school graduate or equivalent required. Graduate from an approved nursing assistant program required. Approximately one year related work experience preferred.  Maryland Board of Nursing – Nursing Assistant Certification required.

ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES ASSOCIATE

Housekeeping Department

Cleans walls, lights, fixtures, and furniture in all assigned areas of Off-Site Offices and the hospital to maintain as aseptic environment and prevent healthcare-associated infection, using standard cleaning procedures and chemicals. Cleans, waxes, extracts, and maintains floors, carpeting, and stairwells and assists with heavy cleaning throughout the hospital.

High School diploma or equivalent preferred but not required. Must have reading, writing and math skills adequate to work independently to perform duties in a safe, competent manner.  Previous related experience of at least 3 months preferred.

ANESTHESIOLOGIST 

Garrett Anesthesia Services, LLC

The Anesthesiologist cares for patients at all acuity levels across the lifespan in a variety of settings for procedures including, but not limited to, surgical, obstetrical, diagnostic, therapeutic, and pain management. High degree of autonomy.  Must be proficient in regional and blocks.  Supervision of CRNA’s and assistance with regulatory standards required.

Successful completion of an Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) or American Osteopathic Association (AOA)-accredited residency in Anesthesiology. Current certification or active participation in the examination process (with achievement of certification within four (4) years leading to certification anesthesiology by the American Board of Anesthesiology or the American Osteopathic Board of Anesthesiology. BLS, ACLS, and PALS required. Must have license to practice in the state of Maryland and be a member in good standing with the Medical Staff credentialing process.

PHYSICIAN or CRNP

Specialty Physicians of Garrett County, LLC- Grantsville Medical Center

The Grantsville Medical Center Physician will plan, implement and maintain a program of health and wellness for patients and families. The Physician will evaluate, diagnose, and deliver of plan of care and evaluation for these patients on an individual basis. The Physician will perform a thorough assessment, evaluation and treatment of patients presenting with medical conditions and stabilize their conditions. The Physician will make the determination regarding when transfer of patients is necessary. The Physician will perform minor procedures in the as outlined in their credentialing. The Physician will arrange for follow up care for patients and their families. The Physician will care for patients of all ages from infancy to elderly. The Physician will participate in Quality Assurance/Performance Improvement activities as well as Maryland payment model initiatives. The Physician will attend hospital committee meetings, as appropriate.

Physician candidates must be Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine. Individual must have active MD licensure, DEA and CDS and will be required to credential with the Medical Staff of Garrett Regional Medical Center for outpatient practice. Preference would be given to candidates who have at least two (2) years’ experience in primary, urgent or emergency care services. CPR certification required, ACLS preferred. CRNP candidates must also obtain DOT certification within six (6) months of employment
