Know before you go! With the ongoing rise in COVID-19 cases the GRMC visitation policy will be reviewed Daily.
Currently visitation is RED, meaning no visitors with the exception of pediatric patients, OB patients, and end of life situations. If the COVID-19 case number goes down the hospital will switch to GREEN visitation, meaning one adult visitor per patient per day, during designated visiting hours between Noon and 7pm (visit for a full description: https://www.grmc-wvumedicine.org/COVID-19).

To ensure the health and safety of our patients and staff, the GRMC visitation policy may change quickly. Please visit our website or Facebook page before arriving at the hospital to see the most up-to-date visitation policy information.
GRMC is closely monitoring CDC guidelines and updates about the virus, including having the correct processes and procedures in place to care for patients if needed. We want to assure our community that we are as prepared as possible, and we urge the public to follow CDC guidelines to prevent infection and stay healthy. Beginning July 1st, the main entrance at Garrett Regional Medical Center will re-open for patients and visitors. Anyone entering the building will be screened and are required to wear a mask at all times. Patients will be allowed one adult visitor per day, during designated visiting hours between 12pm and 7pm daily. Inpatient visitors must wear a visitor badge and stay in the patient’s room. Patients in the emergency room are allowed one person to accompany them, two for pediatric patients. Visitors must remain with patients and are not permitted in the waiting rooms. Subacute patients may have outside visits with one visitor per patient. If there is inclement weather a designated area has been established for visits that allows for social distancing. COVID-19 testing for is available at the hospital Monday through Friday 7am to 7pm and Saturdays 7am to noon. Patients must have a physicians orders to receive a COVID-19 test.

Garrett Regional Medical Center named a 2020 Top 100 Rural & Community Hospital by The Chartis Center for Rural Health. This marks the second year in a row GRMC has received this honor. The hospital also earned a 5-star rating from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services. Both the Top 100 designation and the 5-star rating are indicative of the quality care provided at GRMC.
