Mark Boucot participates in Rural Health Summit hosted by federal Department of Health and Human Services

 

Garrett Regional Medical Center President & CEO Mark Boucot, pictured on the left at the far end of the table, participated in the Rural Health Summit convened by Health & Human Services Secretary Alex Azar and the Health Resources and Services Administration’s George Sigounas in Washington, D.C. January 28th. The summit was led by Eric Hargan, Deputy Secretary of the Department of Health & Human Services, and Peter Urbanowicz, Chief of Staff.  Rural health stakeholders from across the country gathered to discuss challenges in meeting the health care needs of America’s rural communities. Topics included access tocare, telehealth technology, workforce recruitment and retention, the importance of the 340B drug savings program, addressing substance abuse, and rural health system transformation.
