As our county continues to see increases in COVID cases from the Omicron variant, we are asking for your help as we continue to care for our community and anticipate a continued surge of COVID cases. The new Omicron variant is spreading faster and more easily than previous variants. The monoclonal infusions used to treat Delta are not showing effectiveness with this new variant and are no longer indicated for use.

GRMC and WVU Medicine to hold Virtual Forums

GRMC will hold two Virtual Public Forums with West Virginia University Medicine to provide area citizens with information on its proposed full partnership with WVU. The forums will be held Tuesday, December 14th, from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m., and then again on Monday, December 20th, from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. The sessions will include a short presentation as well as a question-and-answer period, with members of the public able to submit questions ahead of time. In accordance to CDC and OSHA guidelines, GRMC will continue to follow the masking mandate for anyone in a healthcare facility after July 1st, when the State of Emergency in Maryland is lifted. As a healthcare facility, GRMC treats the most vulnerable as well as the most critically ill people in the community. In order to protect both patients and staff, the hospitals administration has decided to follow federal health guidelines by continuing to require masks of everyone entering the hospital and any off-site facilities.
